Snoring Remedies: Do They Really Work?
A common problem identified by numerous couples is that one or the other of them snores. While slight snoring may not create a significant issue, habitual, severe snoring may cause major rifts between the partners. Countless snoring remedies have been touted throughout the years, but little medical evidence has been presented to indicate that they are effective. While most of those remedies are not likely to create other health issues, there is always a potential for side effects when foreign substances are introduced to the human body.
According to most of the medical articles that have been published on the subject, changes in personal habits or lifestyle indicators are more likely to reduce the incidence of snoring than commercial remedies.
One of the most commonly sited causes of snoring is obesity, and since our society is experiencing an increase in obesity among the general population, it is logical to assume that snoring may well become increasingly evidenced among those viewed as being obese. Here, one of the most obvious natural snoring remedies would be to lose weight. Statistically, more men than women snore to the extent that their partner loses sleep as a result of that snoring. That does not mean that women do not snore, as all individuals possess the potential to snore. For many other people who are not obese, simply altering their sleep position may reduce the severity of or eliminate snoring. Using nasal strips to expand the nasal passages is another of the most common snoring solutions and is proven to be successful for some individuals.
Some habitual snorers have underlying issues that contribute to the severity of the problem. Persons who consume large amounts of alcoholic beverages appear to be highly prone to severe snoring episodes. The relationship between consuming alcohol and snoring has been documented by many studies in recent years. Perhaps the best of all snoring remedies for these individuals is to reduce or eliminate the consumption of alcoholic beverages well before retiring for the night.
Individuals with long-term snoring problems should consider seeking medical advice to eliminate other under-lying medical problems as causes of the problem. All snoring remedies work better for some individuals than others, so closely examine your personal habits and lifestyles to determine which remedy might best resolve individual snoring problems and allow peaceful sleeping.

My husband suffers from snoring so I do too…HIS! I’ve found an anti snoring pillow to be very effective, though it isn’t ideal for those who suffer from sleep apnea.
